Travel
and change have been at the center for Kathleen E. Moore
Bishop, MD. She has gone from Southern California to Vassar
College to the UCLA School of Medicine; from the University
of Iowa for pediatrics and pathology to Colorado as a
GS 13 ER Doc, then back to an Iowa anesthesia residency.
After 25 years in allopathic medicine, she dove into medical
acupuncture and felt revitalized. Her ideals and understanding
of health and disease resonate with and mirror the paradigms
of eastern philosophy. She is a senior preceptor for the
HMI / UCLA Medical Acupuncture Course for Physicians,
where, since 1996, she has helped students integrate the
practice and philosophy of acupuncture and western medicine. |
In
addition to a half time acupuncture and anesthesia practice
in Casa Grande, Arizona, Kathy also has a private acupuncture
practice in Tucson, Arizona. She runs an acupuncture clinic
for the Indian Health Service in Winslow, Arizona, and is
a consultant in acupuncture for the Gila River Indian Reservation
in Sacaton, Arizona.
Dr.
Bishop is Board Certified in Anesthesia and Medical Acupuncture.
She is a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Holistic
Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture,
and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the AAMA.
