IRIARTE, M.D. |

Dr.
Ivan Iriarte received his MD degree from the University
of Puerto Rico
School of Medicine. He did his residency in Family Practice
also at the
University of Puerto Rico. In the early eighties he lived
for three
years in Iowa City, Iowa where he was a Robert Wood Johnson
Fellow in Family Practice and completed a Master in Science
in Preventive Medicine. He is Board-Certified in Family
Practice and General Preventive Medicine. |
For
the last fifteen years, Dr. Iriarte has been on the faculty
at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, where he has a
position of Associate Professor. He teaches Family Medicine,
Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is
also the coordinator for the Medical School's Bioethics course.
In
1995, Dr. Iriarte graduated from the HMI/UCLA medical acupuncture
course. He is a member of the American Academy of Medical
Acupuncture and the Puerto Rico Medical Acupuncture Association.
He served as President of the latter during 2001. At present
his part-time medical practice is limited to Medical Acupuncture
at the Center for Complementary and Integrative Healthcare
in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He has combined his passions for teaching
and
acupuncture by his regular participation as a preceptor in
the HMI Medical Acupuncture for Physicians clinical units.
In addition, he teaches frequently in Medical Acupuncture
seminars offered by the Puerto Rico Medical Acupuncture Association.
