SHARON MONTES, M.D.
		Dr. Montes is Director of Clinical Services at the Complementary Medicine Program. An experienced family physician, Dr. Montes is committed to providing patient care in a caring, compassionate environment, as well as combining complementary approaches with conventional medical treatments. Dr. Montes received her medical degree from the University of Colorado and did her family medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Texas Southwestern in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Montes has further training in the field of geriatrics. Dr. Montes began her exploration of complementary medicine during her residency and in 1996 started integrating acupuncture into her clinical practice. Dr. Montes has a special love for caring for women and elders. She has been very involved in resident and medical student education, and in promoting the teaching of complementary medicine in an academic environment.
