Dr.
Emily Ratner is a clinical Professor of Anesthesia and
the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Division of Medical
Acupuncture in the Department of Anesthesia at Stanford
University School of Medicine. Dr. Ratner received her
B.S. in Biology at Newcomb College at Tulane University
in 1983, her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in 1987,
and completed her Anesthesia Residency at Stanford University
School of Medicine in 1991. She was Chief Resident in
Anesthesia, and she has been on the faculty at Stanford
since 1992, where she sub-specialized in Obstetric Anesthesia. |
Dr.
Ratner
has been on National Committees of both the American Society
of Anesthesia (ASA) and the Society of Obstetric Anesthesia
and Perinatology (SOAP). She is on the Steering Committee
of the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative
Medicine (CAHCIM) and is currently a Fellow in the Program
of Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. She
is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Medical Acupuncture.
She became interested in
Medical Acupuncture in 2003 and graduated from the Helms Medical
Institute/UCLA Medical Acupuncture for Physicians course in
2004, where she has been teaching ever since.
