SANDRA SKATES, D.O.
		Sandra Skates, D.O. graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology. She completed her D.O. Degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California in 1987. Following an extra year in Osteopathic medical school for a teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), Dr. Skates went on to a Family Practice residency in Long Beach, California.

Dr. Skates practiced family medicine and OMM in Aptos, California from 1990 to 1999. She added medical acupuncture to the mix in 1994. She subsequently taught full time in the department of OMM at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. She still enjoys teaching and practicing acupuncture. She has been a preceptor for the HMI/UCLA program since 1998. Dr. Skates is happily married with children and enjoys scuba diving in Hawaii, running, swimming, and hiking.
